Carolina Cuccu is 22 and is about to graduate in Political Science and International Relations at the prestigious LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome.

She was born in Tuscany but lived in Sardinia since childhood. Three years ago he had to leave this island to continue his studies in Rome.

Studying subjects such as international law and economic development and global problems, he understood the importance of cooperation between states and above all among peoples.

In the first half of 2019 he had the fantastic opportunity, thanks to the Erasmus + program, to study for four months in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. There she came into contact with numerous cultures completely different from her own, such as the Russian and northern European countries, and she understood how this could be an enormous personal and cultural enrichment.

His desire to explore the world has grown even more and so he decided to contact the Deborah Ricciu - Expanding Horizons Association and volunteering at our school in Kampala, Uganda.

The possibility of volunteering in Africa is a dream that had been in his drawer for some years and finally, thanks to this organization, it has become reality.

Carolina's goal during the period she will spend in Kampala is to make herself as useful as possible in order to improve the reality of these children and bring them closer to the theme of human rights and civic education, so that the knowledge and understanding of these can to be a stimulus to exercise them, defend them and spread them: a tool for a better future.
